Robert Sterling is the editor of The Konformist, the internet underground magazine dedicated to “rebellion, konspiracy & subversion.”  Since its debut in April 1996, it has become the leading source for conspiracy theory information, the place where conspiracies transform from underground rumor to mainstream news.  But, as the website Disinformation noted in its biography of Sterling, "In the twilight world of conspiracy theory, Robert Sterling is one of the few researchers able to temper his moral outrage with the bracing sting of humour."  No less an authority as satirist Paul Krassner recently declared, "One of the main reasons I ceased publication of The Realist after 40 years is because The Konformist is carrying on its tradition in cyberspace."

To both explore the darkest and deepest of conspiracies and still keep a sense of humor is a difficult task, but it is one Robert Sterling has done well.  The Konformist received a Project Censored Award in 2001 for excellence in suppressed journalism.  Robert Sterling was also named one of the ten great "Princes of Paranoia" by Conspire.com, awarding the leading writers and reporters of conspiracy theory, and was rewarded by World Charts voters as one of the top 25 home pages in the world.  On January 1, 2000, Robert Sterling was one of five guests on a Fox News TV special on conspiracy theory, They're Out to Get You!  By all accounts, he stole the show with his combination of knowledge, humor and charm.  He did the same as a speaker at the February 2000 Disinfo.con in New York, where he brought the crowd to a rousing cheer after bad-mouthing JFK, Jr., then encouraging people to steal money from banks.

The Konformist was the conspiracy site featured on Geraldo's CNBC show devoted to internet conspiracy theories on JFK, Jr., and Robert Sterling had a blast when John Lydon of the Sex Pistols interviewed him for Rotten Radio.  He is a consultant for Conspiracy 101, an upcoming MTV animated series which mixes action and comedy with conspiracy theories.  Along the way, his writings have appeared in two books by Steamshovel Press, two books from Disinformation (You Are Being Lied To and Everything You Know Is Wrong), The Excluded Middle Anthology (Wake Up Down There!) and another article, "Uncle Ronnie's Sex Slaves" appeared in the sequel to the underground classic Apocalypse Culture.
